Carson Freeman

Smooth Jazz Saxophone

Carson Freeman, the pride of Espanola, studied jazz performance at Humber College, earning a music Diploma in 1998. Now living in Mississauga, Carson works for the Merriam School of Music as a saxophone/clarinet instructor. He was also Woodwind/Brass Department Head (2001-02), ensemble director, and has taught Master Classes on performance techniques and improvisation.

On the professional front, Carson has gigged with many notable jazz musicians; Oliver Jones, Randy Brecker, Alistair Kay and Pat Labarbera (with whom he studied saxophone for 3 years). He and Robert Tardik often work together as a duo, when not bringing his unique energy to the Vickie van Dyke quartet.
